Description
Easy one-pan garlic butter chicken is a quick 30-minute dinner with tender chicken, a rich garlic butter sauce, and crisp asparagus finished with lemon.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic, divided
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
- 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 lb asparagus, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon fresh Italian parsley, chopped
- Lemon slices, for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Season the chicken with salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper, then toss well.
2. Melt 1/4 cup butter with the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
3. Add the chicken and cook until golden on all sides, turning as needed.
4. Add 1 teaspoon minced garlic and Italian seasoning, then cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
5. Transfer the chicken to a plate and keep the skillet as-is.
6. Increase heat to medium-high, add the remaining 1 teaspoon garlic, then pour in the chicken broth and scrape up browned bits.
7. Stir in the remaining 1/4 cup butter, lemon juice, and sriracha until the sauce turns smooth.
8. Add the asparagus and cook 3–5 minutes, until tender-crisp.
9. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss for 1 minute to heat through.
10. Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon slices if desired.
Notes
Keep the heat at medium-low when melting butter to prevent burning.
Cook chicken to 165°F (74°C) before serving.
Reduce or skip sriracha for a milder flavor.
Swap asparagus with green beans or broccoli and adjust cook time.
